Got Soooo Inspired...
by a recent anthropologie email. the image way up above shows how you take a dress you're wearing right now, on a hot august day, then, as temps begin to free fall, add the required layers. i.e. socks, a cardie, tights, a coat, boots & so on. smart, no? i totally feel it. even though i HATE the color brown, shown. it's smart. green (as in environmentally green). and even frugal, considering you're taking a dress you wore one season, and bringing it to the next by reinventing it.

so today, i actually tossed on a little summery dress i got at anthropologie, then layered a sparkly ruffle sweater coat over it from boston proper. i foresee adding tights someday (remember, i live in south florida, it's going to be quite some time before tights are fathomable) and will likely pair dresses like this one to boots sooner than reasonable, just because i miss my boots. and probably ruffly over-the-knee socks too, like dior did, so loved that ad.

something tells me it's going to be mad fun to wear bright summery dress with otherwise somber-hued boots and coats. give it a go, loveys!

love is.
this KILLER necklace of shards, spikes & rings from armani exchange. it's icy and edgy. chunky and bold. cool hotness. hadn't been in an AX in ages. ambled in post vino at city cellar and spotted this have-to-have.
liberty of london for target PJs worn as a top for a day at sea, err, intracoastal... the collection is fab. i want it all. but i fell hard for what was supposed to be a little something worn to bed. i do that a lot.
gigantic blue star earrings, crafted in super lightweight wood, a gift from a baltimore boutique, thanks, jessiekins.

it was definitely the brilliant blue that grabbed me, of course the sparkle. yep, more armani exchange. electric blue burn-out tank of stars, sparrows and most important, SEQUINS.
you've prob. seen it before. my trusty rusty heather grey boyfriend cardigan. guess it would be more appropriate to call it a mr. rogers cardigan. purchased for peanuts at a boston proper sample sale. has been to more shows than i can count. gets tossed atop look after look, high and low. total fave.

and last but so so so not least, the song that acts like a jolt of caffeine & claritin, my absolute love of the moment... neon indian's sleep paralysist. download it FREE, here:

Fashion first—Got home last Friday with a couple of tops I got the day after my Prep School meets Rock chick blog. Threw a couple of looks together to show just how easy it truly is with a little bit of thought. The Look: Super ruffly confection of a shirt with a floppy bow tie (http://www.bostonproper.com) atop my bebe sparkling sequin skirt. Finished with a gray boyfriend cardigan (OLD, thrift shop purchase, quite possibly in high school). Pyramid stud headband $1 at Target). Chunky pewter heels from Patricia Fields. A fun mix of posh & rock star.

Food Next: Tonight I treated myself to an edible shopping spree at Super Target (even though I'm SUPER PISSED at them re: Anna Sui)... This is an indulgence difficult to understand. I get there, and I let myself wander and wander forever. Circling around, circling back. Dropping delights in, letting ideas of flavor congeal.

The plan: Four Nights of Effortless, Deliciousness, Mostly Healthiness & Yes, Of Course, Vegetarian...

The Grocery List:
Large jar of Kalamata olives
Galilee olive hummus
Goat cheese
Fresh mozzarella in water
Chive cream cheese
White truffle flavored olive oil
Broccoli florets
Organic baby carrots
A red onion
An avocado
Southwestern veggie dip
Baguette from the bakery
Six huge Roma tomatoes
Bulb of garlic
Fage Greek yogurt
Pesto parmesan crackers
Boca bruschetta tomato basil parmesan veggie patties
Box of Tazo organic chai
Box of classic frozen fudge bars

What I partook of tonight:
Chive cream cheese & crackers
Hummus & pita chips (already had pita chips)
Broccoli florets & Southwestern dip

For the next three nights I'll utilize the stuff listed above to create similar, easy, quick, yummy meals. Will fill you in. Eating decently, eating vegetarian is so simple.
