bonjour mon ami!
je suis fatigue.
but oh well. last night i finally got to catch MGMT live. two years later than i would have liked
("This is the first time we've played miami. Its pretty. The people are pretty." -Andrew VanWyngarden), and in support of an album i did not love. the hippy-esque love children of miami were out in full force. girls with faux flowers in their hair galore. when they played tracks from oracular spectacular the crowd exploded. the room danced & buzzed. when they played most of the tracks from congratulations, the room smoked pot and chatted. the graphics behind the band compounded by a mild contact high were hypnotic. thank GOD kids pulled me from that strange daze. am quite glad i did finally see them. they were brilliant live (when they were playing songs i love). ok so...

la robe
("vintage" boston proper)
bijoux
(skeleton key, online crafting site. framed blooms, stitch rock 2009, chain, michaels)
des bottes
(frye, last year)
oh & am parlez-ing frances because i'm beside-myself-thrilled about tonight's phoenix show at fillmore, miami beach (wavves is opening, YAY! too). i groveled like mad for this show on twitter for days on end. sorry followers. finally, it's here.
phoenix, please play this & oh and bring daft punk with you again? ha.:

am off to boston & salem in the a.m. won't be blogging but WILL be tweeting.
look for me on twitter:

songs living in my head right now. thought i'd share. very little rhyme or reason to some. so much, re:others. have a listen, see what you think.

Total life forever - foals
this is catchy, that is all there is to it. spanish sahara, from the same album was gorgeous and solemn, so very different from this bubbly caffeine jolt.

Sprawl II - arcade fire
1st heard late last week, then again & again, and now, i have given in. has been compared to sound from the knife. as well as depeche mode AND new order. i think the knife is most accurate. nothing like the rest of arcade fire's new release.

Golden cage - fred falke remix the whitest boy on earth
so right. from its sound. to its hauntingly accurate message. i adore this song.

Days of our lives (light in remix) - restless people
do you like tanlines? the artist, not the residual white spans of skin the wrong bikini leaves. yes? they're somehow involved in this and you hear it. i like it. so summer. right on.

Next girl - black keys
something like the black sheep of this here list of songs, right? bluesy. moody. rough and raw. but it captures me. totally left field i know, but, i dig.

Made of - teenagers
fun. cute. dancey. & oh so euro. hints at pet shop boys, with a french accent.

Holdin' on together - phoenix
an older track from phoenix, recently revisited on a hipster run off blog radio session on XMU. inspired me to dig it up. just makes you feel good. and like dancing around.

Slow motion/tomboy - panda bear
since experiencing these tracks live at pitchfork music festival i find myself somewhat hypnotized each time i hear them. eclectic beats and layers of guitar create such killer atmosphere.

In the water - beat connection
pitchfork said it best, if you can't get enough delorean and you find yourself a little disappointed by cut copy's 1st track from their upcoming album, this is just the track you need. so right. so right. immerse yourself in this gorgeous summer bliss.
no youtube vid for this one, but it looks like you CAN get an mp3. awesome little dance track. and a good question—is this love or just music?

***I told a fib, I said I'd blog over the weekend & I failed to do so. How can I make it up to you?***

Just a couple weeks left to drink Vitaminwater Sync & use the cap code towards FREE music. I brought a couple bottles on the lake with me yesterday which = gratis tunes today!!

I'm leaning towards The Big Pink...

Listened to Phoenix all weekend & I'm loving it.
Another awesome Sync purchase... Am going to be so sad to see this promotion go. :-(

Happy Thursday y'all! ;-) Thought I'd greet you with some maddening live deadmau5 from miami last week. video's a bit wild and whirly because i'm dancing my you know what off whilst filming. if you love rides that spin, enjoy.

Yesterday I was totally all about this back-to-school prepster meets ROCK & ROLL feel when I woke up. Inspired by all things fall fashion (being flung at me via emails, mags, tweets, status updates, HOLY AWESOME, HOLY everywhere inundation), the upcoming Gossip Girl season I'm dying for, etc. AND... low and behold, a black & white check mini sent to me via FED EX from a very dear friend out of the bloody blue!? truly, incredibly kind of her, as i LOVE getting things i can wear in the mail! THANK YOU CARRIE.

The BTS (back to school) aspect is somewhat my own, I'm obsessed with the concept. I think it's my way of rewinding the clock. I've mentioned my love for crests, headbands, plaids et al. And there's something about rocking the look out that totally excites me. Create your own spin. Take photos. I'll post! FASHION IS FUN.

OK... so, what i did, was toss on this cute puff-sleeve shirt/sweater vest-look top i got last year, very school girl, then the mini, which, being a mini does lend the look a bit of rebelliousness, but it was my studded strappy platform heels that put it over the edge. Added my trio of beaded skull stretch bracelets, my studded leather cuff and lastly, I strung the keys I bought over the weekend to a "dog tags" chain and voila... Seriously, fall is over-the-top rock & roll, as exemplified by ELLE's Metallica & Iron Maiden trend reports. Even Saks & Neiman Marcus are in on it, (peruse their online look books). Do it your way, as I have. By simply adding edgy accessories to revv up something you already own. Or... lose yourself in Topshop's killer fall collections like the irreverent HORROR GIRL... it's love. And for absolutely inexpensive, insanely cool accessories that totally master this look... I can't believe I'm sharing this with you... ;-) http://www.thefetty.com/ I've not been this excited about a fashion season in a lonnnnnng time.

p.s. DID NOT love this week's itunes FREE single of the week. It was deleted. But i DID use Vitaminwater Sync credits at amazon's mp3 store to buy Phoenix's album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix and i'm adoring it. Have a listen. Give me feedback. Drink Sync & rack up your own music credits! (until aug. 30th!) Until tomorrow...
