a hurricane churning out in the atlantic allowed me to dig up another pair of boots... well, booties. or rain booties, rather. mod much? acquired these inky black shoes in london back in '95. found them and shined them up today. it's raining it's pouring, why not?

ha, well sort of. i AM still in shorts aren't i? it's still blazing in the FL, so today i stayed in all day, put on boots and my faux-leather bomber and daydreamed about falling leaves, a chill in the air, a chance to embrace fall fashion. c'est la vie. oh & i leave you with OMD...

two weddings and a honky tonk

just back from tennessee, loveys. road tripped it up there for one of my beautiful sparkling sister's weddings. yep. two. one traditional. one buddhist. both beautiful. 

wore a gold hi-lo dress from H&M to the first, with a fab necklace from forever 21.(the bride wore Amsale.) wore a shining silver dress by muse to the other with a glitzy necklace from ann taylor loft. squeezed in a stroll down nashville's broadway in between. WHAT an adventure... 

Celebrating Life

i've only been to 3,000 one-year-old birthday parties in the last two months. many of which were pool parties. however this one was surprisingly sparkling! we celebrated my brazilian friend marili's mini-super-model gabriella's 1st on a gorgeous south florida day overlooking the intracoastal waterway. marili soundtracked the party with fun '80s pop. spunky gabby was born on my dear mother's birthday, making her all the more special.

the party was planned down to every monstery detail, except, what -i- would wear to celebrate my dear L's very first birthday. alas, i spotted it, in such fabulous shades of blue and green—a belted sheath by muse. 'twas perfect! cotton, chic, comfy WITH pockets!!! sparkling silver glitter wedges by nine west... WHAT a fab party!

Hat & Necklace on super duper clearance at Target. Gold wedges—a Boston Proper sample sale. See? So right for an easy summer Saturday...

i'm not dead.

ok so yeah, i'm not dead. i'm just hanging by a thread, that's all. life is nuts. but i still get dressed, i do. just oftentimes, it's not blog worthy. sad. i know! trust me, i know! ah, mommyhood. my closet is a fabulous museum that i rarely even visit. again, sad. but i scored this brilliant top at zara in DC over the holiday and it inspired me to post. it's bad to the bone, literally, but also, hilarious... it reads: a lovely crazy fast star. HUH? yeah, i love shirts printed with english in foreign lands. i don't get it, but i #LOVE it. tossed it on over my bright yellow skinnies, a pair of black eyelet wedges and a sparkly antique-look bracelet. OH & my ALS bracelet. miss you, love you, can't bear life without you mom.

sunshiney daze

 sunshiney daze, as in, i'm zzz. it's beautiful out. i must make the best of it. mirror it. roll with it. by going BRIGHT and SATURATED. again, with my best accessory (baby L). as temps cooled off that evening, i tossed on this new heathered cardie i scored at anthropologie for a mere $19. not sure why i changed into shorts though. again. i'm zzz. hope this finds you well...
